Norfolk and Suffolk Steam Engine Club
The club started life as the 'Norfolk Steam Engine Club'. It was formed in 1959. The club ran rallies from 1960 at Woodton Hall, Bungay and later from 1969 at Strumpshaw Hall near Norwich after the death of the Woodton rally founder, Mr G C Howlett.

In October 1963 the Norfolk Steam Engine Club was given the Marshall Traction Engine 'Woodton Lady' (No. 54486 built in 1910) by a founder member of the club Mr J M Edwards, owner of a Norwich aggregates company. He said that he wanted to give the club the engine for the 'younger generation' to use. The club continued to organise rallies at Strumpshaw Hall until 1993 when the owner and current rally organiser took over.

After the 1992 rally the then members of the club felt they could no longer run rallies and from this point 'Woodton Lady' was moved on from Strumpshaw to carry out extensive repairs. The club continued to have club meets and a few social events each year.

After the engine was given a major overhaul by club members it was restored to its former glory. From January 1998 it was decided (at the previous annual general meeting) to rename the club and become the 'Norfolk & Suffolk Steam Engine Club'.

The club continues to attend rallies with 'Woodton Lady' and members engines. Social events take place throughout the year. As well as helping to maintain and drive the engine club members receive four newsletters each year.
